Square up the pitching rubber by measuring an equal distance from the front corners of home plate to the corresponding corners on the pitching rubber.

The rubber’s dimension is 24 inches (61 cm) by 6 inches (15.24 cm), according to section 1.07 of the MLB rules. In Major Leeague Baseball, a pitching rubber is set so that its front edge is exactly 60 feet 6 inches from the rear point of home plate, and is elevated 10 inches above the rest of the playing field.

Line chalkers are small devices used to apply chalk to baseball fields. There are many varieties of line chalkers available, and specific directions for use vary with the product you purchase. Generally, though, you can just fill the device with marking chalk, then set it to your preferred width and wheel it across the baseball field.
